History of Web: web was initially visualized and developed by Tim Berners-Lee (popularly called as the first web designer), a computer specialist from the European Particle Physics Laboratory (CERN) in 1989. The web is one way to make use of the infrastructure of the Internet. In other words, the web is an application of the Internet. After its inception, web developed under the guidance of an organization that is based at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and this organization took the responsibility of maintaining and developing the common standards.

Web Design is a process of creating Web pages or Web Sites which involves web applications like HTML, CSS, and images, and primarily focuses on the elements of the Web Sites. Web Design principally includes web server configuration, writing web applications and server security.

Some of the aspects included in Web design or Web production are graphics and animation creation, color selection, font selection, navigation design, content creation, HTML/XML authoring, JavaScript programming, and ecommerce development. Web design is sometimes considered as graphic design or desktop publishing.
