Consumer VoIP services are meant for the consumers at low cost calls to the public telephone network. There are other services which also offer outstanding calls including unlimited UK calls and low cost international calling. There are other services which offer free service within the network like Skype customer can call another Skype customer at no cost.

Other than skype there are also other consumer orientated VoIP services such as Free Talk, vonage which offer free or low cost calls through telephone or through a special adaptor which connects to a home broadband service. The drawback of such services is that they are less instinctive to use than a regular telephone and if the computer process is busy then sound quality can suffer.
