Pascal was developed in 1970 by a Swiss computer scientist Niklaus Wirth. Basically this is the oldest programming language that is used for any type of example for the students in the text books. Generations of students have already studied this language and many more are continuing the trend.

It is a structured programming and few may know that the operating system Macintosh was developed using this language. This language was standardized in 1983. There are many variants now available for this language.
