The term video defined to several storage formats such as for moving pictures: digital video formats, including DVD, QuickTime, and MPEG-4; and analog videotapes, including VHS and Betamax. Video is considered as the demanding multimedia content to convey the visitors via the Web.

Video can be recorded and broadcasted in various physical media: in magnetic tape when recorded as PAL or NTSC electric signals by video cameras, or in MPEG-4 or DV digital media when recorded by digital cameras.

Some of the Guidelines required in video while conveying data to users are:

  • Using video as part of a multimedia application generally necessitates an excellence as high as that of television sets to fulfill user’s expectations.
  • Video should be accompanied by a soundtrack in order to give extra information or to add specific detail to the information.
  • Videos need time and careful direction if they are to present information attractively.
  • Video controls should be based on the controls on a video recorder VCR or hi-fi which are familiar to many people etc.
