Wireless Fidelity Networks - Wi-Fi NetworksThe Wi – Fi Networks are the wireless networks. The term Wi – Fi stands for the Wireless Fidelity. This is actually a set of standards that has set the specification for the data transfer over the network. In the present trends and technological advancements this is considered boom to the society. The complex structures of the wires have been removed. The network is now a neat connection of the computer systems. Not only the computer systems but the technology can even be extended to provide support to other electronic devices as well. It became popular in the 2000’s and was much widely used since then. The logo from the Wi-Fi Alliance has certified the Ethernet devices to comply with the IEEE 802.11 wireless standard. Wi – Fi was intended to be used with the mobile devices and the
laptops and the PDA’s etc. Also it gained access to the computer
networks. The 802.16 -WiMAX, is currently in the research and may offer
advance features than the present one. This network facility enables a user with a wireless computer to connect to the internet within the proximity of an access point. The access point is the one where the limit of the network exists. It includes the geographical region that is covered many different access points. This area is called as the hotspot of Wi – Fi Network. Many mobile operators are now enhancing their services to promote this type of features. The Wi – Fi is implanted in the unlicensed bands and this is major difference with the cellular services. The cellular services are the licensed ones. The term 4G is used to refer to the Wi – Fi. As in contrast with the 3G mobile phones. |
