Motherboard Installation

The Motherboard Installation is also a complex process that should be carried out with great detail. The installation procedure starts from the step when the motherboard is fixed in the case. An appropriate case is also necessary for the motherboard to fix in exactly. The motherboard should be grounded over to the case along a plate and fixed with the screws. The plate is used to provide support to the motherboard because it is a fragile one.

Next the plate should be fixed over to the case. Proper care should be taken for this because slight mishandling may lead to major damage. After the motherboard is fixed in the case along with the support then the processor should be installed. The processor should be fixed with appropriate pins in their sockets. The next step is to place a heatsink on the top of the processor. The fan should be gripped over the heatsink. The heatsink and the fan ensures that processor is cooled and the access heat is removed. This is necessary since the processor heats up very easily.

The motherboard connections should be made and the port and the sockets should be fixed to the case where their appropriate place is. Then the next step should be that the connections to these sockets should be made. The DIMM jumpers should be set according to the type of RAM that is used in the system.

The RAM should be appropriately fixed in the motherboard along with the IDE connectors. The IDE devices along with their bus and it should be connected next on the motherboard. The floppy drive should also be connected to the motherboard along with its bus.

The expansion cards if any can be fairly fixed over the PCI expansion slots. The PCI slots are provided for the purpose of the LAN cards and the sound or audio cards and the video cards. The AGP slot if any in the motherboard can be used for the AGP card. The USB connectors should be installed and the connections for the printer and the scanner should be made if any. The TV tuner card that is available can be used for the purpose of television over PC. The modem or the LAN cards are also fixed over the PCI slots.

The electric connections of the LED’s should be made to appropriate ones over the case. The LED’s include hard disk and the power, turbo, reset etc. Double check now with all the connections and finally the power supply or the SMPS should be fixed to the case and the power connections for the motherboard and the devices should be made appropriately,
