CPU Installation

The CPU is the abbreviation for the Central Processing Unit. The CPU is very delicate part of the system and is considered as the brain in the computer. This part of the computer is to be fixed over the mother board along with the heat sink. The heat sink fits over the CPU and the fan over it.

The CPU installation should be carried out keeping in mind the configuration of the mother board and the RAM. Hence these factors affect the system to a great deal. There should be the compatibility between the all the mother boards and the RAM and the CPU. The issue of compatibly should be seriously dealt with since it affects the system performance and even the computer hardware may sustain the damage.

When ever a new CPU is to be installed over a computer then after fixing the mother board the processor is fixed over it. Now the heat sink is fixed with a clip that makes it rigid to the cpu. After that the fan is now attached to the CPU. The fan has a link with the power supply from where it does utilize the power.

The socket over which the processor is inserted in the motherboard should be carefully done since the pins are quite fragile and may sustain the damage during the insertion.

The heat sink is a typical one with lots of cuts in it. Like for example the engine of a motor bike. The design is such that it throws away all the heat it absorbs. In some processors the heat sink and the fan are in one unit. And in some cases they may be separated.
