CMOS

The abbreviation for CMOS is Complimentary Metal Oxide Semiconductor. The CMOS as the abbreviation suggests is a semiconductor device that is a transistor. The features include low power, low heat transistor that is usually found in the following two components.

One is that of processor and the other one is the memory CMOS. In the case of Processor, the CMOS technology is that which gives a better performance and speed of high degree. It keeps the heat, which is not considered better for the processors, is totally under control.

The other is that of the memory CMOS technology which keeps the information, along with the date and time, and also the other basic system settings. The power consumption is low in the case of CMOS.

Its memory is also powered by a small and single Lithium battery that keeps the information stored in the system even when the power is switched off. It also allows the data to be accessed easily by the BIOS at start-up.
