Cache

Cache is the small memory that holds up the memory in the computer system. It is much useful when the recently used information has to be brought back to access it. The RAM or the primary memory is usually small and the cache helps to a great extent to increase the performance of the system in many a ways.

In appropriate English grammar this is pronounced as “cash”. To explain the term the following examples are better suited like when something is typed in the browser of an explorer like for example consider the internet browser; the name of the website is stored in the cache memory. So, when the same site needs to be accessed again; the information stored in the cache helps to get it much faster than the usual process.

This is because the site or the information to be loaded already exists in the cache memory of the system from where this is accessed second time. The other caches include the memory cache and the processor’s cache that will enable the user to re-access data from the primary memory that is the RAM, rather than the secondary memory like the hard drive, and the other cache, allows the user to re-access the computer instructions from within the processor itself.
