Basic Computer Test

The testing of the computer involves that the computer is to be tested against the given constraints subject to whether it meets the requirements and the criteria or not. The testing should be carried out in order to determine whether the hardware or the software is running as per the demands and meets them.

The computer should be tested by checking out each and every power cable and all the connections that are made to the motherboard. The system BIOS utility should be called in to check whether all the settings are appropriate.

Test to see whether the hard disk is working and the corresponding LED’s are glowing. Also check whether the processor and the fan are in working condition. The CD ROM should also be working fine; check to see if the drive is ejecting and detecting the optical media. Also test for the floppy drive with working floppies.

More over, run the computer for a good twenty minutes to test if it is in fine condition and works desirably. Also scan and format the hard drive and begin the installation. The installation can be carried for any desired operating system. It is best preferred to run the system after the installation is complete for at least twenty four hours.

This ensures that the computer runs at with the desirable performance. Also the computer testing is quite necessary in the case of a new one to ensure that it does not encounter any future problems.

It is a better option to lock the computer when it is not in use. This ensures the security and safety of data. The security of data is an important factor for any corporate organization.
